ND Dining is committed to supporting student success through nutritious offerings, healthy ingredients and tailored menus. Recognizing the vital role nutritious offerings, healthy ingredients, and tailored menus have on academic performance and overall well-being, the team welcomed a second nutritionist this summer, Alexandra Krager. With a Masters of Science in Nutrition and Wellness, Ally offers personalized nutritional guidance to students, helping them thrive away from home, manage allergies safely, and meet their unique dietary needs.

As students navigate the challenges of academic life, having access to high-quality, nutritious food and personalized dietary support can make a significant difference in their well-being and performance. Well-balanced meals not only fuel their bodies and minds but also help manage stress and maintain energy levels throughout demanding schedules. By investing in expert nutrition guidance and sustainable food practices, ND Dining ensures that students can focus on their studies and personal growth, knowing that their nutritional needs are being expertly addressed.

Before the academic year began, Ally joined forces with the talented culinary team to create menus that will be featured in the dining halls that not only nourish but also align with our campus’s sustainability mission. Whenever possible, the culinary team sources ingredients from local farms like Pure Greens Farms. The shorter distance from local vendors to campus ensures that food is both fresh and has lower transportation emissions. “Our services are as individualized as the students that we serve. As the campus dietitians, our goal is to enhance the dining experience for the students while they are away from home. We want to make sure that they feel supported and receive the same comforts that they might at home for their dietary needs and considerations. We are here for them whenever they need us,” states Ally Krager, assistant program director of Nutrition Services.

Throughout the semester, Ally will be available for one-on-one consultations to address individual nutrition concerns, working closely with Program Director of Nutrition Services, Jocie Antonelli, to deliver tailored support. For any specific questions or to schedule a meeting, reach out to Jocie and Ally at dining@nd.edu.
