Gary Samuel Arthur has been named Director of University Catering. In his role, Gary will provide vision and leadership for our newly re-branded, service-minded, catering division.
University Catering is the preferred choice for providing high quality food services for events and occasions on the Notre Dame's campus. Every occasion, from the formal dinner to the "thank you" for a job well done, calls for the kind of dedicated commitment to excellence that is befitting Our Lady's University. Delivering shared experiences in support of the rich culture that is Notre Dame is the fundamental mission of Gary and all catering associates.
Arthur has robust experiences in the food service industry, with multiple years of culinary leadership with luxury hotel groups like Mandarin Oriental, Fairmont, Larkspur Hospitality, and Ritz Carlton hotels. A seasoned chef, he has pioneered multiple restaurants in California and the Pacific Northwest. Gary’s collegiate endeavors are highlighted with leadership positions with Texas A&M University, Stanford University, and most recently the University of Chicago.
A graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Gary also has conferred a Master of Business Administration from California State University Monterey Bay. As a lifetime learner, Arthur has earned certificates from the Melbourne Institute of Technology, the Royal Institute of Public Health, and other industry-related institutions.
