Luigi Alberganti has been elevated to executive director of Campus Dining.
Luigi has served Notre Dame with distinction since 2016, when he arrived on campus as the director of retail dining. He transitioned to director of student dining in 2019 and was promoted to senior director of Campus Dining in 2021. Luigi’s strong and inventive leadership during the pandemic was pivotal to Notre Dame’s in person student experience, an accomplishment rare among higher education peers. He continues to support excellence, innovation, and team development in Campus Dining, and we’re grateful for his contribution to our shared campus experience and UEE.
Luigi brings a wealth of experience in hospitality and food and beverage to our campus. Prior to Notre Dame, Luigi served as the director of restaurants at MGM Resorts’ Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas and as director of food and beverage at MGM Resorts’ Monte Carlo Resort, also in Las Vegas. Before that, he worked with MGM Resorts International as the general manager of several AAA Four Diamond concepts.
A resident of Granger, Luigi and his wife Desyree are the proud parents of two children, Gabriella and Fabrizio. When he’s not busy on campus, Luigi enjoys traveling, learning about other cultures, wine, and cooking.
