On Wednesday, October 8th, in partnership with Student Government, NAMI-ND, Student Union Board and the Psychology Club, Food Services hosted a late night breakfast as part of Irish State of Mind Week.
Every year, the National Alliance on Mental Illness names the first week in October “Mental Illness Awareness Week.” The purpose of the week is to highlight the challenges faced by those with mental illness, remove the stigma of mental illness, and recognize the impact mental health has on all of us – especially those of us on a university campus.
Members from the various student groups served the breakfast and passed out t-shirts for the event. The night
also included acoustic music programming performed by students as well as a banner signing to raise awareness for the week and show solidarity.
