Campus Dining continued its tradition of preparing turkey and side dishes to three South Bend organizations hosting Thanksgiving meals this year.

In the spirit of giving, members from Notre Dame, Saint Mary's and Holy Cross dining teams prepared meals for the Center for the Homeless, St. Margaret's House and Hope Ministries in South Bend. The teams served more than 500 people in total at the meals.

The festive celebrations included traditional favorites such as roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans and pumpkin pie.

"This is something our teams look forward to every year. It's so important for us to give back to our community partners who work so hard day in and day out to provide for those in need," said Reggie Kalili, Director of Residential Dining for Campus Dining.

Food insecurity is a continued challenge in the region, especially over the holidays. There are multiple local organizations that help provide food or meals, beyond these three organizations. If you need help with food, housing or utilities, call Indiana 2-1-1, a service that connects Hoosiers with human services and resources in their local communities.
