There were two opportunities on campus last week for sharing a Thanksgiving meal. The Transformational Leaders Program hosted a Friendsgiving meal on Wednesday, Nov. 22, for many of the students who didn’t travel home for the holidays. Faculty and staff joined them for the occasion.

On Thanksgiving Day, North Dining Hall played host to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner that included New England clam chowder, kale cranberry quinoa salad, roast turkey breast, Irish whiskey-glazed ham and cedar-smoked salmon, to name just a few items on the extensive menu. Learning at Work Academy Program is a recipe for success for two Campus Dining colleagues

Sabinna Andrews and Joy Wood did not start their positions in Campus Dining at the same time or at the same place. But if you spend even a minute with them, you would guess they have known each other forever. While both now work at Chick-fil-A in the Duncan Student Center, the two first met in the English as a New Language (ENL) program and quickly formed a friendship based on their desire to work hard, learn the language of their adopted country and advance their careers at Notre Dame. This is truly a recipe for success.

New dining offerings on campus coming soon

The options for dining on campus will increase this fall with the addition of new quick-service locations. Here are updates on three new dining offerings. 

With the new partnership of Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore and Barnes & Noble College comes the opening of a new coffee shop, The Gilded Bean. The coffee shop will open in the former Einstein Bagels location on Monday, Aug. 15. The Gilded Bean will serve the Starbucks-branded “Proudly We Serve” coffee line alongside bagels and bagel sandwiches.
